Nolan Wells Obituary: On July 6, 2026, Nolan Xavier Wells entered into eternal rest at the age of 18. Born on August 19, 2007, Nolan was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, whose life was defined by faith, family, compassion, humility, and purpose. Though his time on earth was far too brief, the impact of his life will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Nolan was raised in the Catholic faith and baptized as a child at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moss Point, Mississippi. He worshipped at both St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. His faith was evident in the way he lived—through his servant’s heart, quiet humility, and genuine compassion that made everyone around him feel seen, valued, and loved. One of his favorite Scriptures was Colossians 4:2: “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”

A proud graduate of Ocean Springs High School’s Class of 2025, Nolan excelled as a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and baseball, while also contributing to GTV, the school’s media program. His leadership, determination, and positive attitude earned admiration from classmates, teammates, coaches, teachers, and friends.

Following graduation, Nolan attended Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Mississippi, on a football scholarship. He balanced athletics with academic excellence, earning recognition for his scholastic achievements and reflecting the discipline and perseverance that defined his life.

Yet Nolan’s greatest accomplishments were not measured by awards or accolades, but by the way he loved. He had an infectious smile, a laugh that brought joy, and a personality that made strangers feel like lifelong friends. His corny jokes and joyful spirit became treasured memories among those closest to him. Above all, his devotion to family was his greatest gift—especially his desire to comfort his mother and bring peace to those he loved.

Nolan was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Gina C. Wells. He leaves behind his devoted parents, Elmore Wonsley Sr. and Christine Wells-Wonsley; his maternal grandfather, Christopher L. Wells Sr.; paternal grandparents, Elmore J. Hawkins and Dorothy M. Wonsley; his sister, Carlisha Briscoe; brothers Jalen Briscoe, Jaden Briscoe, Ethan Wonsley, and Elmore Wonsley Jr.; his godmother, Geralyn Mass; aunts Gabrielle Wells, Shawanna Wonsley, and Ayanna Dread; uncles Christopher Wells Jr., Eric Bell, and Xavier Bryant; great-grandparents Janet and Carlton Wells; his cherished pets Louie and Ling; and a host of cousins, extended family, teammates, classmates, coaches, mentors, and countless friends.

Though his voice has been silenced, Nolan’s example continues to speak. Though his footsteps have ceased, his influence continues to guide. While his absence is deeply mourned, his life is celebrated as one truly, beautifully lived.
