Roberto Navarro Obituary, Cause of Death – Las Vegas Passenger Dies in DUI Crash

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is investigating a tragic traffic collision that claimed the life of Roberto Navarro, a 28-year-old passenger, near the Las Vegas Strip on Friday morning. His sudden death has left family, friends, and the community devastated, while also underscoring ongoing concerns about impaired driving and road safety in the area.

Authorities reported that the crash occurred around 9:10 a.m. on South Highland Drive, just south of Edna Avenue. Witnesses, surveillance footage, and scene evidence indicated that a Nissan Altima traveling northbound failed to navigate around a stationary Volvo tractor-trailer parked against the curb.

The Nissan rear-ended the trailer, and the impact proved fatal for Navarro, who was seated in the back. Medical personnel declared him beyond resuscitation at the scene, marking his death as the 69th traffic fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction this year.

The driver of the Nissan, 22-year-old Jakari Miles, sustained minor injuries along with a front-seat passenger. An occupant in the Volvo’s sleeping area was unharmed. Authorities noted signs of impairment in Miles, who remained at the scene and was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of DUI.

This heartbreaking incident has sent shockwaves through the Las Vegas community, serving as a grim reminder of the dangers of impaired driving. Roberto Navarro’s life was cut short in a senseless tragedy, leaving loved ones to mourn a young man taken far too soon.

🕊️ May Roberto Navarro rest in peace. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, even as the community calls for greater vigilance and responsibility on the roads.
